Helping support needy children & families in India

Child Aid Ireland-India (CAII) sponsors the education of over 1,000 children in Tamil Nadu in India. An increasingly important part of our work is improving the education and welfare of the mothers of the children. We do this via our 56 mothers self-help groups where 850 women meet on a monthly basis. Every month we are now providing 16 mothers with a loan to purchase a cow, which is a life changing experience for them.

The charity was founded in 1996 by Mr Tony Barron. Since that date over 5,000 children have been educated, 40 schools have been built and many orphanages and medical centres have been created.
