Helping support needy children in India

Welcome to the new web site Child Aid Ireland- India. We hope you find it informative and that it gives you an insight into the marvellous work being done by CAII, thanks to the generosity of its numerous sponsors.

CAII was founded in 1996 to help the poorest of the poor in Tamil Nadu, a province in the south of India approximately the size of Ireland with a population of 66 million approx.

Over 1,000 Children Being Educated & Family Life Improved

Many kids travel to school on the local "School Bus" like the one pictured here! It can take a lot of kids, how many do you think are on their way to school in this photo?

Through its child sponsorship programme and the various fund raising activities, in the order of 1,000 children are receiving full time primary and secondary education while some who have finished have gone on to third level colleges.

Also the quality of life of many families in the remote villages has been greatly improved through the various projects funded by CAII.

New initiatives include the development of village mother’s groups and New Generation Movement to assist with the implementation of various projects at local level and the administration of the sponsorship programme.

Child Aid Trust (CAT) has been established in Tamil Nadu to administrate the sponsorship and to assess, coordinate and monitor the new and existing projects.

In conclusion we would like to thank everyone for their continued financial support.
